General Terms
- General Disclaimer on Faults
Whilst all reasonable care will be taken during the execution of the works, no responsibility can be accepted for any faults or failures that may occur to existing pipework, fittings, equipment, etc., due to disturbance caused by the proposed works. - Survey & System Condition
The attached estimate is based on a non-intrusive survey of the property and assumes that any existing systems we connect to are in good condition and working order.- If any faults are found during the works, we reserve the right to charge for the necessary corrections.
- If the client fails to mention any relevant facts regarding the existing installation, we reserve the right to charge for correcting them.
- Fitted Cupboards & Re-Instatement
Dismantling, clearing, and re-instatement of any fitted cupboards (or similar) required to permit the proposed works to proceed will incur an extra cost unless otherwise specified. - Floor Access & Re-Instatement
- If it is necessary to access floors beneath fitted carpets, these will be lifted and laid back on completion. No re-stretching or fixing is provided for unless specified.
- For floors covered with thermoplastic tiles, vinyl sheet, cork tiles, or laminate flooring, no allowance has been made for re-instatement unless specified.
- Isolation of Services
During the works, it may be necessary to isolate various water, gas, and electrical services. We will advise you in good time, and the period of isolation will be kept as short as possible. - Holes & Brickwork Matching
All holes made during the works will be prepared for re-instatement of decorations; however, we do not guarantee a match with the existing brickwork if boiler flue terminals have been removed. - Pipework Casing & Finishing
No allowance has been made for casing in pipework or for painting/decorating the new works. - Unrestricted Property Access
It is assumed that unrestricted access to all relevant parts of the property will be provided. Any delays due to restricted access (not communicated at the time of survey) may result in an extra charge and/or delay in completion. - Coordination with Other Trades
If other trades (not under our control) are involved in the works and cause delays, these may incur an extra charge and/or delay in completion. - Continuous Visit & Extra Visits
- The works are to be carried out in one continuous visit unless specified otherwise.
- Extra visits requested by the client or necessitated by circumstances beyond our control will incur a surcharge and may affect the completion date.
- Ownership of Materials
Ownership of any supplied materials—whether fixed or unfixed—remains with us until full payment has been received. We reserve the right to take legal action to secure payment for the works and materials supplied. - Out-of-Hours Work
No allowance has been made for out-of-hours working unless specified or required by our own scheduling. - Estimated Dates & Times
All dates or times provided for the start or duration of the works are based on survey information and our current workload. These estimates may vary due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., emergency call outs, breakdowns) or other factors beyond our control. We accept no liability if it is not possible to meet the client’s timescales. - Guarantee & Material Warranty
- The works will be guaranteed for twelve months from the date of completion against faulty design and workmanship.
- Materials supplied are subject to the suppliers’/manufacturers’ guarantee.
- This guarantee does not extend to existing, installed equipment, pipework, or fittings, and does not affect your statutory rights.
- Product Substitution
Whilst specific items may be named by model, we reserve the option to supply goods from a different manufacturer, provided they are suitable for the intended purpose. - Inspection of Client-Supplied Items
Any items or materials provided by the client or third parties for our fixing will be unpacked and inspected in your presence.- Any faults found will be pointed out to the client, who is responsible for obtaining replacement items.
- Delays caused by faulty or damaged items may incur charges, result in withdrawal from the site, and affect the completion date.
- Additional Works
Any additional works requested by the client during the execution of the specified works will be charged extra.- An estimate of such additional costs will be provided, and your agreement will be obtained before proceeding.
- Estimate Validity
This estimate is open for acceptance for 30 days, provided that the works can commence within 90 days from the date of the estimate. After these periods, the estimate may be subject to revision or withdrawal. - Terms of Payment
- Payment terms are as stated in the estimate, and adherence to these terms is a condition of acceptance.
- We reserve the right to charge interest at 5% above Lloyds Bank PLC’s current base rate per month on overdue accounts.
- Removal of Dangerous Waste
The price in this estimate does not include the removal of dangerous waste materials (e.g., asbestos) that may be discovered during the works. Such removal will be charged separately. - Acceptance of Conditions
Acceptance of this estimate confirms acceptance of all the conditions outlined above. - Gas Appliance Work
Prior to any work involving gas appliances, the existing gas supply will undergo a soundness test to ensure compliance with Gas Safety Regulations. Any faults found will be communicated to the client, and any necessary rectification may incur additional charges. - Power Flush of Heating System
If a power flush of the existing heating system is included, please note that while the treatment is generally harmless, it may reveal weaknesses in the system. Any required repairs will be charged extra. - Combination Heating Boiler Units
For works involving the installation of a new combination heating boiler unit connected to an existing system, be aware that the higher operating pressure may expose weaknesses in the current system. Repairs for these issues are not included in this estimate. - Safety Precautions
It is the responsibility of the client to ensure that all children and pets are kept away from the work areas. - Respecting the Work Zone
While our engineers are on the property, please respect their work zone by avoiding stepping over or around tool bags, boxes, and floor hatches. We are not responsible for accidents resulting from such interference. - Leasehold Properties & Permissions
If the proposed works are being carried out in a leasehold property, it is solely the client’s responsibility to obtain all necessary written permissions from the landlord or managing agents. We accept no responsibility for work carried out without these permissions. Details of the proposed works can be provided at possible additional cost. - Payment on Completion
Accepting this estimate confirms that payment will be made upon completion of the works unless specific alternative arrangements have been made. - Cancellation Policy
Once an estimate and quote have been accepted (whether verbally or by email, meaning the work is booked and acknowledged), cancellation of the work may result in a charge to the client. This charge will vary depending on the loss incurred by the company.
